Lynjte Weeds was born in Spijkenisse, The Netherlands on January 24, 1928. She passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at the age of 87. We know that she is now dancing with her husband, Dirk Weeda, in a realm of love and pure bliss. She is survived by her seven children, Nellie Dughi, Jake Weeda, Lena Weeda, Arie Weeda, Leonard Weeda, Sam Weeda, and Connie Branderhorst. Lyntje’s legacy will thrive in the generations that she has left behind, and she will forever live in our hearts. She emmigrated to Canada in 1951, where her two eldest children, Nellie and Jake were born. After our grandfather established himself in California, our grandmother, Nellie, and Jake then moved down to California in 1954. It is here that the rest of the family flourished and thrived until present time. Our grandmother was widowed in 1985, but filled the role of father as well as grandfather with grace and kindness, and nourished a growing family that is still growing even recently with the birth of two new boys that are her great-grandchildren. Lyntje family’s to date has fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and is also survived by three sisters who live in Holland, Maria De Pijper, Nell De Jong, Gre Lankhaar. She also has gone to meet with her other three siblings, Jeanne Van Es, Siem Van Es and her older sister. It’s no secret how important family was to her, and she truly was a beautiful matriarch to such a huge family. Lyntje still inspires all of us to be better individuals and to share our love with the world. Her presence is still the glue that holds our family together, and her warmth and loving glow will radiate through our family until the end of time. This world lost a Queen and a piece of our hearts went with her… but we can all smile through our tears, because she is now at peace.
