61, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident near Minot. 

Mariano was born on October 15, 1957, a son of Monico and Violet (Dove) Rodriquez. He was raised and educated in Santa Fe, NM and Ceres, CA, graduating from Ceres, CA high school, where he excelled at football. 

On January 9, 1975, Rod enlisted into the United States Air Force. He proudly served his country for 24 years until his honorable discharge into retirement on January 31, 1999.Following his retirement, Rod worked at MLT Vacation, Job Corps, and eventually as a civilian in Civil Service at the Minot Air Force Base; Rod was united in marriage to Barbara Burger on August 8, 1988. 

Rod’s favorite times were times spent with his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved to cook, watch the Raider NFL team and was a member of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club. He was a loving husband, father, papa, son and brother and will be missed by all who knew him. 

He is survived by: Wife of 30 years, Barbara; Children: Daniel (Meghan), Paul (Sarah), Mariano “Bubba” (Amber), Josh (Molly), Vanessa (Robert ) Ogden;  eleven grandchildren: Matthew, Victoria, Celyna, David, Mariano, Joseph, Little Josh, Jet, Kaliyah, Jaxon and Raycer; one great-granddaughter Nickalle;  Mother: Violet Rodriquez;  Siblings: Samuel, Monico “Julio”, Monica (Chris) Shehan;  mother-in-law: Shirley Burger-Brown; He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Rod was preceded in death by his father and father-in-law.

Visitation:  Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 3:00 until 6:00 pm at Thompson Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Funeral Service:  Wednesday, November 28 at 1:00 pm, 2018 at Hope Lutheran Church, Surrey, ND.

Burial:  A private family burial will take place at a later date.
