Marie Boyd, 93, of Turlock, passed away at Brandel Manor. Marie was born in Paola, Kansas to Lewis and Mary Austin. She attended school in Kansas and met and married the love of her life, Horace Boyd, in 1935. In the late 1930’s they moved to Los Angeles where Marie worked as a housekeeper and later for Douglas Aircraft Co. in Santa Monica, CA. She worked for many companies in the aircraft industry and retired from Hughes Aircraft Co. in 1980. After retirement Marie and her husband worked for Avis Car Rental Co. part time and also travelled around the country and Europe. They made many trips to England and Spain to visit their son who was in the Air Force.

Marie was a loving and faithful wife and mother. She was an excellent homemaker and wonderful cook. She attended Inglewood Baptist Church for many years and was dedicated to serving others and the Lord.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her four brothers: George, Raymond, Ralph, and Kenneth Austin, and by her husband of 75 years who passed away just 4 months ago. She is survived by her son Robert (Linda) Boyd of Turlock, grandson Matthew (Kate) Boyd of Downieville, CA, 2 great grandsons Jacob and Jonathan, one sister Ethel Moody of Olathe, KS, step-grandchildren: Colton Sanders of Modesto and Lori (Toby) Barnum of Modesto, and 2 step great-grandchildren: Ian and Connor.

A graveside service will be held at Turlock Memorial Park on Monday, August 8th at 1:00 pm.
