Marion Hall Damiano was born in Shelton, Washington at the home of her maternal grandparents in August 1917. She lived in Skagit County, Washington through her high school years. She moved to Turlock, California with her parents when her father was transferred there by the Carnation Company. Marion attended Modesto Junior College for two years, leaving in April 1941 to work in the Ordnance Department in Washington, D.C. This was before Pearl Harbor and before the Pentagon was completed.
She was in the first section of personnel to move into the Pentagon.
Marion met and married Frank Damiano in Washington, D.C. He was an engineer and a graduate of Columbia University. He introduced Marion to Brooklyn, New York, and she brought him to Turlock, California where he was employed by PG&E. Both worked for years in the Sacred Heart School Guilds after their children were enrolled in the first classes to attend the newly opened Sacred Heart School. Marion was a leader for Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. She was a member of Chapter BY P.E.O. for more than 60 years. She spent many years working on family genealogy. She also participated in an Edgar Cayce Group.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ivesa Hall; her sister, Frances Bailey; her husband, Frank, and her son, John. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Tucker; her son, Jamie (Lura); her daughter-in-law, Anita; her grandchildren Steven, Lori, and Nick (Rocio); and her great granddaughter, Michelle. The family requests that donations in lieu of flowers be made to your preferred charity. A visitation will be at Allen Mortuary on Sunday, August 7 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A memorial service will be at Allen Mortuary on Monday, August 8 at 10:30 a.m.
