Mark Jerome LaChapell, 68, of Turlock, California passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, January 25, 2016 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson, CA. He was born in Turlock California to Frank and Camilla LaChapell. He graduated from Turlock High School in 1965 and later received a degree in electrical engineering. For 38 years he worked at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories as a senior electronics design engineer. Over the past 11 years he joined forces with his son, Scott, putting those same skills at work to build LaChapell Audio.

Mark was a loving man who cherished his family and friends deeply. In his spare time he enjoyed going for walks downtown, and good conversations over coffee with his many friends in the community. Most importantly, he loved talking about the love of God and what it meant for him and others – a love he now fully realizes in the arms of Jesus.

Mark is survived by his wife of 48 years Linda Tanner LaChapell; children Michelle (Ken) Van Vliet and Scott (Julie) LaChapell; grandchildren Ben Van Vliet, Rebekah Van Vliet and Olivia LaChapell; siblings Frank LaChapell, Ryan LaChapell and Elise Kleiber. He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Camilla LaChapell.

Visitation will be held at Allen Mortuary on Sunday, January 31, 2016 from 3:00-6:00p.m.

Graveside service will be on Monday, February 1, 2016 at 9:30a.m. at Turlock Memorial Park with the memorial service to follow at Monte Vista Chapel also on Monday at 11:00a.m.
