Melba was born to Carl and Ethel Parrish on Oct. 10, 1926 in Oklahoma. She went home to be with her Lord on Sept. 7, 2010.

She was the oldest of seven children. Melba met her husband, Estyl, during WW II and they were married on March 1, 1946. They lived in the Waterford area, where they raised their three sons. Her hobbies included reading her Bible, gardening, camping with her family and singing in the church choir. They were members of Berkeley Avenue Baptist Church for nearly 20 years, where she faithfully served her Lord in various capacities.
Melba is survived by her husband, Estyl of Turlock; sons, Bill (Henrietta) of Ripon, Jim (Bonnie) of British Columbia, Canada and Paul (Lynda) of Modesto; sister, Betty Parrish of Oregon; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Ethel Parrish; four brothers; and one sister.
Viewing will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 13 at Allen Mortuary. A graveside service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 14 at Lakewood Memorial Park, with memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Berkeley Avenue Baptist Church in Turlock.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Berkeley Avenue Baptist Church, 2813 N. Berkeley Ave., Turlock, CA 95382.
