Myrna (Callaway) Avila died on September 1st, 2025, after a short illness.
Myrna was born in 1940 in Hemet, California and was the daughter of Robert S. Callaway and Delilah “Dee” (Mapes) Callaway.
She grew up in Hemet and later moved with her family to Medford, Oregon where she graduated from Medford High School in 1958.
She married her husband of 61 years, Daniel R. Avila, in 1960.
Myrna and Dan raised their five children together in Turlock, California.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dan, son Christopher Avila, parents Bob and Dee Callaway, and brother Shelby Callaway.
Surviving Myrna are her four children Matthew (Lisa), Vincent (Erica), Denise (Scott) and Danelle (Doug). She leaves behind 5 grandchildren: Tiphani Avila, Trevor Avila, Nevin Avila and wife Sam, Nick Lamoureux and Allison Lamoureux.
She also leaves behind her sister Patricia Bakken, brother Ed Callaway and numerous nephews and nieces.
Myrna passed away peacefully with her family by her side.
The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at Sutter Hospital Roseville for their exceptional care and compassion to Myrna during her illness.
Myrna will be laid to rest at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California, followed by a Celebration of Life in December.
