Surrounded by family, Pauline Johnson, age 94, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2017 at home.  Pauline was born to Fred and May Grubb on February 1, 1923 in Turlock, CA.  

Pauline was one of 7 siblings and a lifelong resident of Turlock, CA, graduating from Lowell Grammar School, Turlock High School, and Adrian’s Beauty School.  Pauline worked for the Hume’s Cannery, Woolworths, Pacific Bell Telephone Company, Charm Center Beauty Salon and Hazel Mae’s Beauty Shop until her retirement.

Pauline enjoyed dancing at the Portuguese Hall and thereby met the love of her life, Leslie Johnson in 1946.  They were married on August 8, 1947 and enjoyed 63 years together until Leslie’s passing in 2010.

Their children, Jeff and Jennifer were the love of their lives as well as their grandchildren and great-grandson.  Throughout their years together, they enjoyed many vacations visiting family and friends in numerous areas of the United States.  Pauline was an avid cook and baker who would whip up something delicious for family, friends, neighbors, and church functions “just because.”

Pauline was predeceased by her parents, Fred and May Grubb and her siblings, Fred, Alice Benson, Kenny, Clyde, and June Grubb.

Pauline is survived by her son, Jeff (Ellen); daughter, Jennifer Ferry; grandchildren, Ryan (Raquel) Ferry, Erin (Sam) Pilot, Katie Johnson; and great-grandson, Nolan Ferry.  She is also survived by her loving brother, Carl (Shirley) Grubb; and numerous nieces, nephews, and her dear friend, Kay DeBora. 

At her request, funeral services will be private and entrusted to Turlock Memorial Park and Funeral Home.
