Peggy passed away suddenly, but peacefully, surrounded by her family at Emanuel Hospital on Oct. 29 at the age of 70. Services begin at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5 at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd.
What can you say about such a wonderful woman? She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to so many. Everyone who knew Peg, from immediate family to close friends, knew she put everyone else and their needs before her own in just about everything she did. She was such a bright part of every day for our family with her laugh, warm smile and great sense of humor. She took great pleasure in the simple things in life. She loved gardening, animals, the outdoors, fishing, reading, cooking, and playing Bingo with friends. But her greatest pleasure of all was her family.
She was called grandma by many; her love was huge. Peg was born in Stafford, Kansas and moved with her family to Turlock as a baby. She became a resident of Denair in 1941, where she remained until her death. A 1957 graduate of Denair High, Peg married her high school sweetheart.
She is survived by her sweetheart and husband of 52 years, Arthur Glenn Hotchkiss of Denair; children, Randy and Lynne Hotchkiss of Idaho and Brad and Kathy Wade of Denair; the light of her eyes, her grandchildren, Michele and Shelby Hotchkiss of Idaho, and Rob and Kristen Wade of Denair; siblings, Bertha Vincent, Mary Culpepper and Johnny Webb; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Peg/Mom/Grandma, you will always be in our hearts and on our minds. You will be missed terribly each and every day. But the loved we shared with you will never die. We know you will be watching over us all. God added one special angel to his flock. May you rest in peace. We love you!
