Peggy Vernon, 84, of Turlock, passed away on July 12. She lived in Turlock since 1963. She was a secretary at PureGro Chemicals in Modesto and worked for CSU Stanislaus ordering books for the library for many years.
Peggy is survived by her daughters, Laurie (Mark) Young of Modesto and Susan (Stephen) Bantly of Merced; grandchildren, Christopher Davis of Modesto, Madeline Bantly of Turlock and Joel Bantly of Beaverton, Ore.; three sisters; one brother; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Ray N. Vernon.
Her daughters would like to give their grateful thanks to her wonderful neighbors for always being there if she needed anything. They would also like to thank the staff at Paramount Court Assisted Living Facility in Turlock for the tremendous care and understanding they put forth during mom’s stay. Peggy will be buried alongside her husband at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella. There will be no services.
