Perry Allen Raleigh was born at Emanuel Hospital on April 28, 1935, and raised at 1401 East Ave. in Turlock. He attended Turlock High School and graduated in 1953. He was married to Marie Duhm on July 10, 1955. On Nov. 20, 1956, he joined the United States Air Force. His service took him and his family all over the United States and Europe. He was decorated for his outstanding professional skills, knowledge and leadership along his journey to the rank of Master Sergeant. He retired from the Air Force on Aug. 31, 1977, after a distinguished career in the service of his country.
He had a second career as a truck driver and put many millions of miles and countless hours in his trucks. He loved seeing the country through his windshield. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, hunting and just being in the woods.
Perry is survived his wife, Marie; daughters, Sherry Tyler and Merry Muse; son, Terry Raleigh and his wife, Michele; and grandchildren Felix Foster, Peter A. Raleigh and Rebekah J. Raleigh.
