Polly Crockett, 94, of Turlock, was born in Handley, Texas to Henry and Essie Pearcy. She grew up in Texas and Oklahoma and married the love of her life, Luther D. Crockett, on Dec. 25, 1932 in Ft. Worth, Texas. Together they raised three daughters. The family moved to Southern California in 1938, where Luther worked on a dairy. They moved to Hilmar and owned a vineyard for a time. Later, they moved back to Southern California and Luther worked for Boeing Aircraft. Then they moved to Turlock in 1960. After Luther retired, he began working in real estate. Luther and Polly were married for 58 years when Luther passed away in 1991. Polly worked for 30 years as a line worker in the food processing industry. She was a very talented lady and especially loved crocheting. In fact, she won “Best of Show” honors for her crocheting five times at the Stanislaus County Fair. She was also a faithful member of the Turlock Church of Christ since 1960.
Polly is survived by daughters, Norma (Bill) Falk of Turlock, Mary Lou (Ken) Fletcher of Delhi and Patricia (Mark) Anglin of Atwater; brother, Eldon Pearcy of Woodland Hills, Calif.; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and 10 great great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
