Rachel Hartt, 98, of Ceres, passed away at her home. Rachel was born in Tyee, OR, to Roy and Clara Perkins and grew up in Oregon. In the early years her parents were farm workers and moved with their work around the Oregon area. She married Arthur Hartt in 1930 and he worked as a carpenter. Rachel enjoyed crocheting and quilting. Her hand-made quilted and crocheted gifts are keepsakes that will be treasured by family members for years. She also enjoyed teaching people about God's promises for the future as they are outlined in the Bible.
Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband of 53 years, Arthur Hartt, and a son Arthur Lee Hartt. She is survived by five children: Carolyn (Tom) Hatfield of Ceres, Betty (Jerry) Smylie of Fullerton, CA, Lila Huff of Ceres, Robert (Wanda) Hartt of Turlock, and Jonathan (Laquita) Hartt of Denair; a sister Alice Dutton of Eugene, OR., 17 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 11 great, great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 15th, 3:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 7763 N. Marriott St., Delhi, CA. Private inurnment will be at Turlock Memorial Park. Friends are invited to leave memories and condolences at www.allenmortuary.com .
