Raymond Y. Garcia passed on Monday, January 16, 2012 at Emanuel Medical Center surrounded by family and friends.  He battled cancer for 12 years.
Raymond was born September 12, 1941, in Jerome, Ariz. He grew up in Mendota, Calif., and settled in Turlock where he started his family in 1962.
He was a husband, brother, father, grandfather and friend. Raymond is survived by his wife, Clara; his devoted dog, Bud; sister, Fermina; brothers, John and Steve; his children, Raymond (Kristi), Rosemary (Mike) and Jessica (Tom); his grandchildren, Siera, Keaton, Kristian, Trevor and Branson.
Raymond Garcia was a man with great pride and love for spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, camping and gardening. He shared his knowledge of all these things to the people in his life. His smile and sense of humor will be missed. He was loved by many and cherished by all who had the honor to be a part of his life. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Augustine Garcia; and brothers, Augustine Jr., Gilbert and Andy. 
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., followed by the Recitation of the Rosary at 6 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 19 at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 20 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Turlock, with a burial to follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
