Richard Christopher Quigley, known affectionately as Rich, passed away on December 23, 2023, at the age of 66 in Fortuna, California. Rich was born on December 20, 1957, in Sacramento, California,to Marion and Patricia Quigley. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Brian Quigley, his sister and brother-in-law Theresa and Alan Ector, and his sister Suzanne “Suzi” Holmberg.
Rich was a master carpenter, a true craftsman who could build a home from the ground up. His dedication to perfection was evident in his work, particularly in the intricate finish work he did. He learned the art of carpentry from his grandfather, K.V. Quigley, and his older brother, Dennis Quigley.
Family and traditions held a special place in Rich’s heart. He cherished and kept their traditions alive with his children and their families.
Rich also had a deep appreciation for nature. He enjoyed driving his Mustang along the scenic Avenue of the Giants. Zephyr Cove/Lake Tahoe were also among his favorite destinations, where he created lasting memories with his family.
Rich is survived by his daughters, Jessica Clower and Richelle Quigley, and his granddaughters, Maddyson and Delylah Aubrey, and Emery and Lennon Clower. He is also survived by his brothers, Dennis Quigley (Eva) and Kevin Quigley, his sisters Mary Grace Quigley and Tricia Rojas, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Rich’s ex-wife, Sheri Quigley-Johnson and her sister, Cyndi Morgan-Smurr were a big part of his family, as well.
A celebration of Rich’s life will be held at a later date. In the meantime, try to remember him through the beauty of nature and the shared traditions that he held dear.
