Richard Holder, 81, of Turlock passed away at Turlock Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Thursday, Dec. 17.
He was born in Tahoka, Texas to Parker and Zadie Holder in 1928. Richard was raised in Domingo, NM and moved to California in 1941. He settled in Turlock in 1960. Richard worked for 30 years as an automobile mechanic for Patchett’s Ford and Smith Chevrolet. He was a member of Calvary First Assembly of God in Hilmar. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Richard is survived by his children, Floyd Holder and Stanley Holder; sisters, Dorothy Carrol and Ella Frances Pace; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Holder; and son, Gordon Holder.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 20 at Allen Mortuary. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 21 at Allen Mortuary and burial will follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
