Born in Geneva, Neb., Bob Tatro moved to Antioch, Calif. in 1956. He married Betty Jane Wilson in 1957, and later moved his wife and family to Turlock in July 1965. He was employed with Pacific Bell as a coin I-M technician for 37 years. Bob and his family operated a commercial hog ranch in Turlock’s west side.
Bob served six years in the Army Reserve and was also a member of the following organizations: Turlock Moose Lodge #1679, serving as governor and administrator for many years; the Patterson Masonic Lodge #488; Southern California Research Lodge F&AM; Telephone Pioneers; California Farm Bureau;  Nebraska Farm Bureau; The American Legion Post #1000; The National Rifle Association; the O.S. Club; Out ‘O Bounders RV Club; American Clippers Owners Club; and ECV#58.
Bob loved to hunt, fish and travel. He especially enjoyed visiting the battlefields of the Civil War and other historical sites. His biggest joy was spending time with family and friends.  
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty; son, Kraig D. Tatro; daughter, Kileen D. Otis; grandchildren, Kevin C. Bradley and Kerstin J. Bradley; foster daughter, Julie Akin (Ray); grandsons, Christopher, Randy and Daniel; and sister, Mary Jane Cantrell (George).
Visitation will be held from noon to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 2 at Turlock Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 3, also at Turlock Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Turlock Memorial Park, as well as a reception.
