Bob Disney, 88, of Modesto, went home to be with the Lord after a short but brave battle with cancer, with his loving family at his side. Bob was born in Lewistown, Mont. to Charles and Evangeline Disney. He grew up in Ballico and graduated from high school in Livingston. He attended MJC, UC Berkeley, and Stanislaus State. After working at various jobs, Bob became an accountant for M&ET Railroad, retiring after 19 years of employment there.

Bob was an avid golfer, loved to hike, and enjoyed trips to Palm Springs and Pacific Grove. He was a docent at Great Valley Museum and volunteered at Priceless Treasures Thrift Shop. Bob was an Elder for the Church of the Cross in Modesto and served many previous terms as Elder. He was the editor of the church news letter, and held many other responsibilities in service to his church. Bob was devoted to his family, friends, and church, always lending a hand to anyone in need. He had a generous spirit and a kind soul.

Bob will be greatly missed by his wife of 67 years, Jane; sons, Chris (Pat) of South Lake Tahoe, Jerry (Joan) of Tuolumne City and Steve (Amy) of Modesto; brother, Harvey Disney of Georgetown; sister, Carol Roth of Mount Herman; five grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; special friends, Brian and Sue Oler; and many dear friends.

Following a private graveside service will be a celebration of life memorial service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5 at  The Church of the Cross, 3936 Dale Rd., Modesto.
