Rob Reilly, age 59, entered into eternal rest after a short illness on Tuesday, October 1, 2013. He was born in Brooklyn, New York and resided in Queens until joining his family in Turlock, CA in 1989.   He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert “Bud” and Esther Reilly.  He is survived by his sons, Jared Reilly, and Jesse Sargent (Amanda), and granddaughter Emily, his sister Ruth Reilly, niece Rebecca Macedo and his aunt Rose Porfert-Machado. Rob worked for over 40 years as a mechanic and fabricator, and a short and long haul truck driver, as well as a New York City bus driver.  He most recently worked as a valued employee of American Recycling in Modesto, CA.
His hobbies included creating beautiful pieces of stained glass, wood working, cabinetry and furniture building, model ship building, drawing with charcoal and pencil, and water color painting.  He was truly a gifted craftsman.  He also enjoyed music, deep sea fishing, target shooting, hot rods, and gardening.  His tomatoes were the finest.
As a member of St. Francis Episcopal Church, he served on the Building and Grounds Committee where he worked diligently to restore life into the church.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 from 5 to 7 pm at Turlock Memorial Park,      425 North Soderquist Road, Turlock, CA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 10 am at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 915 East Main Street, Turlock, CA. There will be a reception in the church parish hall immediately following the service.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Francis Episcopal Church, Turlock, or the American Cancer Society.
