Roberta L. Snider, aged 93, passed away on August 19, 2025, in Turlock, California. Born on December 12, 1931, in Byron, California.
Roberta was a dedicated homemaker who devoted her life to nurturing her children. She would bake the most delicious cookies and cakes and took great joy in drawing her children’s favorite animals on their lunch bags. Her home was always filled with warmth and her love for arts and crafts, evident in the beautiful afghans she knitted and the birdhouses she painted. An animal lover, Roberta cared for two dogs and a cat, and even maintained an aquarium for her children, horses for her daughter, Shelby, and ducks for her son, Blake.
She enjoyed playing Bridge with her friends and was described as “living the life of Riley.” Her hobbies also included knitting, where she crafted afghans purely out of love, never for sale. Roberta became a Christian at the age of 16 where she was baptized at First Christian Church. She remained strong in her faith throughout her life.
Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton Alexson and Gladys Mattson; her sisters, Cheryl Larison and Sandra Burger; her brother, Noel Matson; and her son, Marcus Snider. She is survived by her son, Blake Snider; daughter,
Shelby Snider; nieces and nephews, Robin, Laurie, and Kevin; and several great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom will miss her deeply.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Turlock Memorial Park, with services officiated by her cousin, Pastor Steve Elliott and Pastor Kevin Heppner. A private reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Roberta Snider’s memory can be made to the Turlock Gospel Mission, located at 437 S. Broadway St., Turlock, CA 95380.
