Roy Westin, 97, of Turlock, passed away at Emanuel Medical Center on Friday, July 23. He was born in Rockford, Ill. to Mr. and Mrs. Victor Westin in 1912. Roy was raised in Aberdeen, Wash.
In 1955, he moved to Turlock. He and his wife, Irene, owned and operated Westin Union Gas Station on West Main Street in Turlock. They sold the business in 1980. Roy was a charter member of Monte Vista Chapel. He enjoyed operating his HAM radio and travelling.
Roy is survived by his daughter, Sandra Westin of Turlock; nephew, John Patterson of Powder Spring, Ga.; and brother-in-law, E. Read Brown of Cheney, Wash. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Westin.
A visitation will be held from 12 noon to 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 6 at Allen Mortuary. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 7 at Lakewood Memorial Park.
