Rudy Holguin Reyes, 71 of Newman, passed away Wednesday, February 9th in Newman.  

Mr. Reyes was born in Telemonteś, Mexico. He attended Turlock High and graduated from Stanislaus State. He lived in Turlock the majority of his life, became a Newman Community member when he married his wife, Angela in March of 2001. He was a middle school physical education teacher and coach in Hughson, California. He loved spending time with his family and being a dad and grandparent were his true joys in life. He was an avid sports fan especially his beloved LA Rams who just won the Super Bowl. He loved westerns and was able to cross off a bucket list item by visiting Medicine Bow, Wyoming last summer which was the setting for one of his favorite series, The Virginian.

He is survived by his wife, Angela Mackovich-Reyes of Newman; daughters, Stacie Macias (Robert Macias) of Turlock, Melissa Reyes of Maui, Hi, Mikayla Stettler of Dos Palos, Courtney Stettler of Meridian, Id; sons, Drew Stettler and Sage Reyes both of Newman; grandchildren, Isabella Macias, Damian Macias and Julian Macias of Turlock and Morgan Boyd of Dos Palos. He was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Camerina Reyes of Turlock; sisters, Maria (Soco) Reyes of Mexico, Elia de Jesus of Delhi and Amelia Alejandro (Ramon Alejandro) of Denair; brothers, Robert Reyes (Teri Reyes) of Turlock and Mike Reyes (Marla Reyes) of Kernville. 

A Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 6:00 pm, Monday, February 21st at Hillview Funeral Chapel in Newman. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, February 22nd at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Newman.
