Sharon Fredeen
Nov 1942 – May 2018
Sharon Fredeen

Sharon Marjorie Fredeen, wife, mother, Nana to her grandkids, and friend to many, is now whole and healed in the presence of her best friend and savior, Jesus Christ. She is now living the reality of her life-long goal and passion, and what she so richly deserves, the Big Well, as she termed it!

After several years of home care, Sharon had been residing at Paramount Court in the memory care unit in Turlock since mid-January of this year. From there she was hospitalized for a brief period and then was transitioned to hospice at Samaritan Village in Hughson. God mercifully brought her to Himself after several days there. The family is grateful for God’s provision and care for Sharon every step of the way.

Sharon was born in Turlock in 1942 to Gordon and Marjorie Mowrer. She was the second of five sisters and one brother, David, who died in infancy. She is survived by her sisters Marilyn Meadows, Gwendy Reeser, Bonnie Spycher, and Pam Sawyer, as well as her husband Gordy, sons Todd and Joe, and grandchildren Sosie, Adelae, Silas, Teddy and Teague. Sharon is dancing in heaven with her spunky granddaughter Nina, who preceded her to heaven over seven years ago, two days before her sixth birthday. It will be a sight to see as they both knew how to “move and groove”.

Sharon attended schools in Turlock and graduated from Turlock High School in 1960. After graduation she attended Adrian’s Beauty College and earned her state license in cosmetology. She then attended BIOLA University for a year and in 1964 she married her high school sweetheart, Gordy Fredeen. They would have celebrated their fifty-fourth anniversary in July.

Sharon was truly one of a kind. “Giver” is the word that best describes her, both in tangible ways and more importantly in genuinely caring for all she came in contact with during her lifetime.

In mid-life, as part of her quest for health, she developed a passion for fitness which found expression as a fitness counselor at a local health club, a position she held for nine years. During that time she impacted innumerable lives in positive ways, but uppermost in her mind was sharing the love of Christ, not by being “preachy” but by living His love in front of people.  She did that for everyone but she specialized in rascals and rebels because she was a bit of one herself. There will be many in heaven because of the words she spoke which were authenticated by the person she was.

Sharon was wise, witty, direct yet compassionate. She spoke the truth in love with grace. She was the “best friend” of many. She was the premier mamma and Nana, and the very best wife a man could possibly have. She will be irreplaceable.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday May 25 at 11:00 a.m. at Monte Vista Chapel where she was a charter member. Memorial contributions in Sharon’s name can be made to Greater Europe Mission, PO Box 1669, Monument, CO 80132-1669, noting on an attached note to be used for the support of Dustin and Michelle Johnson, or for Westside Ministries in Turlock, CA.  Please share your memories at www.allenmortuary.com
