Shirley McKibben, 82, of Turlock, went home to be with the Lord she loved at her daughters’ home after battling congestive heart failure for over a year. 
Shirley was born to Rev.  and Mrs. Harlow Arms in Egan, S.D. in 1928. She attended and graduated from White High School in 1946, and was married to her sweetheart of two years, Donald McKibben, in May of 1947. 
Shirley was a member of Monte Vista Chapel and the Turlock Covenant Church, as well as a member and past president of the Turlock Quilt Guild. Her greatest achievements are in the quilting realm. Her other hobbies included stained glass and knitting machines.
Shirley is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Quick and Teri McLaughlin of Denver, Colo. and Susan Butcher of Turlock. She was blessed with eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald (March 2007); her parents; brother, Milo; and sisters, Thelma and Merlene. 
Community Hospice was a great comfort to her and she requested all remembrances or donations be sent to Community Hospice, 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto, CA 95356, or Turlock Covenant Church, 316 South Laurel St., Turlock, CA 95380-5399. 
Allen mortuary is entrusted with the service. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11 at Allen Mortuary.
