Sofie was born in El Centro, CA to Joe and Josephine Odermatt in 1925 and passed away in Turlock at the age of 88.  She had lived in Turlock for most of her life.  Sofie enjoyed gardening, baking, and was a good cook.  She helped at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and her and her husband Fred were members of the San Joaquin County Swiss Club.  Sofie enjoyed participating in all the activities involved with the Swiss Club such as dancing and playing swiss card games.
She is survived by her children Louise (Norman) Martin and Carl Sigrist; sister Anna Low; grandchildren Debbie Simnacher, Norman Martin, Jr., Rodney Martin, Tony Martin, Lori Alexander and Natalie Chandler; thirteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.  Sofie was preceded in death by her husband Fred Sigrist and daughter Mary Jane Jensen.
