Steve Garcia Alves, Jr., 80 of Delhi, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at his home. Steve was born in Gustine to Steve and Dorothy Alves in 1936.  He was married to Zeldina Alves in 1958 in Riverbank, California whom he met through a mutual friend.

He was a longtime member of the Turlock Horseman’s Club (since 1969) and an avid horseman. He last worked in manufacturing at Racor in Modesto, CA before retiring in 1998.   In retirement, he enjoyed visiting with family, assisting his son Brian with the horses and interacting with friends over coffee and donuts on an almost daily basis.

Steve is survived by his children Brian (Diane) Alves of Ballico and Kimberlee (Jack) Breien of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren Samuel (Allison) Branco of Oakdale, Stephanie (Carlos) Figueiredo of Denair and Carly Madison of Seaside, OR; his sister Loretta Faris of Gustine and 7 great grandchildren in addition to numerous relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his wife Zeldina whom he was married to for 58 years, his parents Steve and Dorothy Alves, his son Scott Alves and granddaughter Robin Alves.

An inurnment and Celebration of Life will be scheduled for family and friends at a later date.
