Tan Nguyen was born on January 1st, 1924 in Vietnam. He married at the age of 24 to his sweetheart Sang Pham. Together they had 11 children. He was self-employed as a Purchasing Agent.
He was great man who always provided for his family. At the age of 40, he lost his eye-sight to Glaucoma. He was able to see shadows and silhouettes. Losing his sights made his other sights keener, and so in April of 1975, a week before the Civil war in Vietnam, he told his family to gather their valuables and left Vietnam. Mr. Nguyen lived in Waterloo, IA for four years before moving to San Jose in 1979. He and his wife have been living in Turlock with Ann, his daughter's family since 2001. Mr.& Mrs. Nguyen have been happily married for 64 years. He passed away peacefully at the Community Hospice House in Hughson.
Mr. Nguyen has always taken care of and spoiled his family. Now that he has left to be with the Lord, the family believes that he is able to see and is still watching and taking care of his family from Heaven. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice House. During his final days, the people at the Hospice House were caring and wonderful towards Mr. Nguyen and his family.
Visitation will be held today from noon until 4:30pm at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd., followed by a recitation of the rosary and funeral mass at 5:30pm at All Saints Catholic Church, 4040 McKenna Drive Turlock, CA. Interment will be private at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in San Jose.
