Thomas Dean Parkin passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in San Antonio, Texas on July 19, 2016. He was of 65.

Tom is survived by his longtime companion Annette, his daughters Katie and Heather, his son Andrew, and his brother Jerry. He is also survived by his beloved grand-babies Julian, Aedan, Sadie Pepper, and Sydney. He is preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Ella Mae, his sister Donna, his brother Mike, and his previous wife, Camille.

Tom was born on March 3, 1951 at Emmanuel Hospital in Turlock. He graduated from Turlock High School in 1969, before taking over his father’s tile business. Tom created beautiful pools, tilework, stonework, and fountains all over the Central Valley for decades, something in which he took great pride.

Tom was known best for his wit and sarcasm, his love for his kids and grandkids, rock n’ roll music, his dogs, and the idea duct tape could fix pretty much anything. He was passionate about sports and was a loyal, dedicated San Francisco Giants and 49ers fan his entire life. Tom’s other hobbies included fishing, skiing, storytelling, watching Jeopardy, and barbequing in the backyard.

A memorial for Tom is scheduled for Saturday, August 13th at 11am at China Basin Park in San Francisco. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Tom’s life. His cremated remains will later be scattered in Yosemite by his family.
