Vernon Wesley Eck of Corsicana, Texas went to be with the Lord on July 30th, 2022 at the age of threescore and ten while building a church in the mountains of Chihuahua, Mexico.

Vernon was born May of 1952 to William and Linda Eck of Delhi, California, the youngest of four children. He was raised by loving, Christian parents and accepted Christ as his Savior at a young age.

He devoted his life to Christ and His kingdom and committed to not marry without his Father’s full blessing. At age 36, on October 9, 1988, he married Katherine Leah Bawcum of Hilmar, California. The Lord blessed them and he begat eight sons, Joshua, Nathan, Micah, Solomon, Ezekiel, Seth, Jeremiah, and David. He was also called to be a father to the fatherless, welcoming 4 siblings into his home, loving and raising them as is own for 12 years. He raised his family to love and fear God and was a Godly example of a loving husband and father. Throughout his life, he preached the Gospel wherever God called him. His greatest desire in life was to do the will of God; living and teaching the words of Jesus. He loved to spend time reading the word of God and in His presence hearing from Him. He truly was a friend of God. He built and pastored a church in Stevinson, California for many years. He was a farmer, carpenter, mechanic, and could build or fix anything. In 2013 the Lord led him to move his family to Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Linda Eck. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 34 years, Kathrine, his brother Howard Eck, brother Ray Eck and wife Glenda Eck, and his sister Joy Culver and husband Jerry Culver. Son Joshua Eck and wife Paige Eck, grandchildren Mathew and Sarah. Son Nathan Eck and wife Kaylee Eck, grandchildren Luke and Aleah. Son Micah Eck and wife Brittney Eck, grandchildren Chloe, Titus, and Elijah. Sons Solomon Eck, Ezekiel Eck, Seth Eck, Jeremiah Eck, David Eck, and many cousins, nephews and nieces.
