Vernon Kennedy, 50, of Turlock, died tragically as a result of a traffic accident. Vernon was born in Quesnel, British Columbia, Canada. He grew up and attended schools in Delhi, CA. After high school he went to work for Sorenson’s Poultry Farm and Foster Farms where he worked as a forklift driver for five years. Vernon loved the outdoors – he enjoyed hiking, fishing, camping, and occasionally hunting cottontails. He was a fan of the Seattle Seahawks. 

Vernon was preceded in death by his father Vernon Lee Kennedy Sr. He is survived by his mother Patricia Kennedy of Turlock; four children: Karen Marie Kennedy and Brandon Kennedy, both of Turlock, Jessica Mendoza of East Chicago, IN, and Timothy Kennedy of Ceres; siblings: Monica (Jay) Peterson of Oakdale, Grace Kennedy (Gerald Tapley) of Ceres, and Erick (Hope) Barajas of Turlock, 5 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at Allen Mortuary (Heritage Chapel) on Wednesday, Nov. 28th at 3:00 pm. Memorial contributions are suggested for Merced County Mental Health Center, PO Box 2087, Merced, CA 95344.Please leave memories and condolences at www.allenmortuary.com.
