Vernon was born to Vernon and Johnnie Bradford in San Francisco in 1948. He enjoyed sports and was an avid Steelers fan. He also coached basketball and football and was a karate instructor. Vernon was an artist and liked music. He ran the Youth Center on 4th Street Park for many years and also worked for the City of Modesto.
He is survived by his daughter, Consentida Bradford-Blueford of Arizona; mother, Johnnie White of Texas; siblings, Tony Latimore, Eddie Latimore, Faith Latimore and Freda White; and grandchildren, Aesha, Aisha, Jerusalem and Israel.
