Virginia Ruth Bowen fondly known as “Granny” was born on July 23, 1933 in Keota Oklahoma to Arthur and Ola Bonds.  She passed away on September 26, 2016 in Atwater California, where she was a resident for 82 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband; Glen Wesley Bowen, parents; Arthur Bonds and Ola Bonds, sister; Claudia Hightower and brother; Darrel Bonds 

She is survived by her three children; Delenda Marshall, Rose Valle and Michael Glen Bowen. Granny had five grandchildren; James Robinson, Michael Bowen, Jennifer Bowen (Sweet), Sam Marshall and Sheryl Marshall (Nichols), and seven great-grandchildren. 

The family would like to thank all that had a part in making her final time here on earth more comfortable until her special day, when she went home to be with Jesus.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gospel Defenders Church Officiated by Pastor John F. Hillton located at 2909 Beachwood Ave. Merced California. Private burial will follow at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, California 95326.
