Our mom, Vivian Wiele, 81, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 12 at Sutter General Hospital in Sacramento.  Born on Feb. 5, 1929, Turlock was her home for the first eight years of her life, as well as for the last six years. Her memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 3 at Covenant Village of Turlock.

Her loving family includes her sons, Douglas (Carol) Wiele of El Dorado Hills, Calif. and Brian (Linda) Wiele of Olympia, Wash.; her daughter, Karen (Robert) McGrouther of Redmond, Wash.; and her seven grandchildren. She has one surviving sister, Adelyn Linscheid of Spring Valley, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyn, in 1995.

Viv resided for much of her life in the Oakland/Walnut Creek area, and worked for more than 25 years as an administrative assistant in the medical field.  She was a member of First Covenant Church of Oakland, where she formerly served as a deaconess.  She was proud of her Swedish heritage, and thus enjoyed being a member of the Vasa Order of America.   She had a deep fondness for Mission Springs Conference Center in Scotts Valley, Calif., where she worked on summer staff and also owned a cabin for many years.

Her family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of Covenant Village for their wonderful and compassionate care of their Mom.  She loved living at Sequoia these last four years, and you treated her so well!

Memorial contributions may be made to Mission Springs Conference Center, 1050 Lockhart Gulch Rd., Scotts Valley, CA 95066.

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.  Psalm 118:24
