Survived by his children William Cox Thornton III (son), Kelby Thornton (daughter) Tamara Thornton (daughter in law) and Alina Thornton (granddaughter). He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Thornton.

Memorial Services with Military Honors will be held at 2 pm on Friday, 30 January 2015 at Riverbank Masonic Lodge, 6707 2nd Street, Riverbank CA 95367
