William Hopkins, 66, of Denair, passed away at Memorial Medical Center on Friday. He was born in Indianapolis, Ind. to John and Willie Hopkins. He grew up and went to school in Indianapolis. It was in Indiana where he met Shirley Brown and they were married in 1964. Together they raised two children. William and Shirley moved to California in 1980, and settled in Denair. He worked as a mechanic for Garton Ford Tractor for 30 years. William was a generous, fun-loving man who enjoyed meeting and talking with people. He also enjoyed the casinos. He will be greatly missed.

William is survived by his wife of 46 years, Shirley; daughter, Donna Morrow of Denair; son, David (Karen) Hopkins of Henderson, Nev.; siblings: Bill, Marie, Reba, Bertha, and Faye, all of Indiana, Ronnie Hopkins of Tennessee, and Reg Hopkins of Hemet, Calif.; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
