William Lee Huntington was born on November 8, 1942, the only child of Carl and Florence Evelyn (Nelson) Huntington in Seattle, WA and peacefully crossed over to a new life on April 23, 2013 in his home in Turlock.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marie; step daughter Shannon and his good friend Earl Stapp.  He is survived by his devoted wife Barbara Ann (De Groot) Huntington; daughter Michelle Schone and her children Felicia and Dakota; step son Jesse Myers of Arizona and step daughter Sherry Myers of Turlock as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
After serving in Vietnam as a Marine; Bill settled in Turlock where he worked at Snyders Auto Center and later for the United States Postal Service until his retirement.
Bill was a creative and masterful woodworker and fisherman.  He will be greatly missed by his family and numerous friends; a few being Jerry Mason, Tom Rall, Ron Young, Chuck Malgaglio, his fishing buddy Leroy Walker and the members of his woodworking group “Johnny’s Turners”.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at Allen Mortuary, 247 N Broadway in Turlock on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 1:00p.m.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Modesto Gospel Mission 1400 Yosemite Blvd Modesto, CA 95354 or Hospice of Emanuel 825 Delbon Ave Turlock, CA 95382.  Please share your memories at www.allenmortuary.com.
