Services for Yakub Nair, 78, of Modesto will be held at 1 p.m. July 25 at Allen Mortuary. Yako passed away in Modesto surrounded by his family.
He was born and raised in the Fiji Islands and worked as a taxi driver and movie theater operator in Fiji until he moved to Modesto in 1992. He loved to garden and collect artifacts. Yako also belonged to the Hindu Society in Modesto.
Yako leaves behind his wife, Kankamma Nair; children, Pushpa Nair, Ritu Sharma, Kamla Prasad, Rajesh Nair, Hari Nair, Rohini Pratap and Atish Nair; five sisters; six brothers; and 10 grandchildren.
