Councilmembers have been bad stewards

Editor,

I have decided to run for City Council because I believe that the present council has not managed the city business to favor the greatest number of people.

The finances are in terrible condition; the expenditures of funds have been lavish and extravagant for the most part.

The bus system has a new hub with a budgeted expense of $20,000, without an additional ridership and is largely dependent on state and federal support. The police station has been partially funded. The streets have not been improved or received their proper funding. The council spent $355,000 without a permanent homeless shelter.

For the above reasons, I ask for your support for a new council.
