Recent studies have revealed some statistics that suggest the flu shot is less effective and much more dangerous than was believed previously.
In 2010, a review of 50 flu vaccine studies concluded: "Under ideal conditions (vaccine completely matching circulating viral configuration) 33 healthy adults must be vaccinated to avoid one set of influenza symptoms. In average conditions (partially matching vaccine) 100 people must be vaccinated to avoid one set of influenza symptoms.
The November 2011 Journal of Virology stated that while the flu vaccine "may have" prevented some cases of influenza in children, the drug compromises the immune system by hampering the development of virus-specific CD8+T cell responses. Since T cells play a central role in cell-mediated immunity, the vaccines could be making children more susceptible to flu and other viruses.
Recent research studying blood chemistry findings related to immune competence showed three measurable benefits related to the chiropractic adjustment. Proinflamatory mediators are decreased. Antiinflamatory mediators and cortisol levels increase. These changes all improve the ability to resist disease and to more quickly heal from both illness and injury. These changes persist for weeks to months as shown on follow-up blood tests and occurred in all subjects studied — not 1 to 3 percent as per vaccination efficacy cited above.
