One of my favorite holidays of the year is the 4th of July. It is a special day where we as Americans despite our many differences all come together to celebrate what a great country we live in..

Two traditions in Turlock; our parade and 4th of July fireworks were really enhanced this year when the new President of CSU Stanislaus, Dr. Ellen Junn ,and her husband Alan Greenburg, not only hosted the 4th of July fireworks on campus, she fully participated in the parade accompanying Mayor Gary Soiseth on the entire route.

President Junn clearly understands the importance of a strong relationship between our city and the University. She is off to a really great start and we wish her the best on her new presidency.

Specials thanks to the staffs at CSU Stanislaus, the Turlock Downtown Association and our City for making July 4th such a special day.
