Bailey Old of Turlock had himself quite a day on Thursday in the Bulldogs crosstown meeting with Pitman at the Turlock Golf Country Club.

Old not only had the lowest score of the day at 71, but he paved the way for a Turlock group to finish 5-0 during the regular season for the fifth time in the last six seasons after a final of 417-447.

“My guys beat a really good team today in Pitman,” said Turlock head coach Jason Boswell.

“I told the guys that today wasn’t our day. I let them know that Turlock played well… really well, especially Bailey. His one under is tough to beat,” said Pitman head coach Matt Jeans.

Pitman’s Chandler Hedrick shot the lowest score of the day at 81 to top all Pride players. Second lowest score of the day was Bryan Rouse who shot an 82.

Nathaniel Coutinito hit a 97 for Pitman and Trevor Showen finished with a score of 88.

“I told them that I was proud of them. And we just need to regroup and start preparing for next week,” Jeans added.

Second after Old’s top score of 71, was Preston Magina, who was the No. 6 player for the day, but was second for Turlock with a score of 85. Fletcher Bacon and Logan Lucero tied at 86 each and Dylan Cummings finished with a score of 89.

“So far we are undefeated, but we have the CCC championship tournament on Monday,” said Boswell. “We would have to finish really low to have a chance to lose it. Most likely not going to happen but the kids did a great job focusing and playing to the best of their abilities all season long.”
