Stanislaus State Athletics is proud to announce the 2026 Hall of Fame Class, which will be celebrated at the Hall of Fame Brunch Awards Ceremony on Jan. 24, 2026, at the Stanislaus State Event Center on the Stan State campus. Brunch will be served at 9:30 a.m. with the ceremony following at 10 a.m.
This year's class honors two influential contributors to Warrior Athletics, a respected leader, a championship team, and one of the most decorated student-athletes in school history. The 2026 Hall of Fame Class features Blue Chip Broadcasting (Eric Davis and Bryan Nelson), Katie Busi, Milt Richards, Joe Ryan, and the 2014 Women's Soccer Team.
BLUE CHIP BROADCASTING (ERIC DAVIS AND BRYAN NELSON)
Blue Chip Broadcasting, featuring longtime voices Eric Davis and Bryan Nelson, has been the sound of Warrior Athletics for more than a decade. The duo began broadcasting Stanislaus State men's and women's basketball and baseball games before expanding coverage to include softball and volleyball. In the early years, Blue Chip provided live coverage of both home and away contests, bringing Warrior action to fans across the region. Today, their partnership continues with high-quality broadcasts of all home games and selected away contests for men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball, and volleyball. Through their enthusiasm, storytelling, and professionalism, Davis and Nelson have elevated the fan experience and strengthened the connection between Warrior Athletics and its supporters, becoming a vital part of the program's legacy.
KATIE BUSI
One of the most accomplished student-athletes in Stanislaus State history, Katie Busi excelled in both basketball and track and field from 2008 through 2012. On the basketball court, she earned Daktronics All-Region Second Team honors (2010-11) and was a three-time All-CCAA First Team selection (2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11). She led the Warriors in scoring three seasons, rebounding and blocked shots four times, and steals three times. Busi appeared in 106 games with 101 starts, amassing 1,361 points (12.8 per game), 965 rebounds (9.1 per game), 200 blocked shots, 165 steals, and 293 free throws made. She ranks tied for second in program history in scoring and second in rebounds. Her 35-point effort against Cal State San Bernardino on Feb. 7, 2009, remains the fifth-highest single-game total in school history, and she still holds the Stan State single-season record for blocked shots (65 in 2008-09).
Busi also starred in track and field during the 2012 season, becoming a CCAA Champion and All-Region honoree in the hammer throw. She earned All-CCAA honors and still ranks fifth on the Stan State all-time list in the event (170 feet, 0 inches). Her success across two sports showcased her rare combination of power, athleticism, and determination, making her one of the most versatile and decorated athletes in Warrior history.
MILT RICHARDS
During his 12 years as Director of Athletics at Stanislaus State from December 1998 to November 2011, Milt Richards guided the Warriors through one of the most successful and transformational periods in program history. Under his leadership, 26 teams advanced to postseason play, two programs earned No. 1 national rankings, and more than 400 student-athletes received All-America and All-Conference honors. Richards oversaw a dramatic expansion of the department's resources and facilities, generating more than $6.5 million in private funding and passing three student-fee referendums that increased the athletics budget from $700,000 to more than $2.2 million. Those efforts helped fund the $16 million Student Recreation Complex, which became home to numerous NCAA and CCAA championships — including the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Richards, who emphasized academic success and community engagement, ensured Warrior student-athletes maintained a 3.0 GPA and graduated at rates above the university average. After leaving Stanislaus State, he served as Director of Athletics at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, helping lead Canada's only NCAA member institution to full Division II membership.
JOE RYAN
Before making his mark as a Major League Baseball All-Star with the Minnesota Twins, Joe Ryan was a dominant ace for the Warriors in 2018. That season, he was named CCAA Pitcher of the Year, earned First Team All-American honors from CoSIDA, ABCA, and NCBWA, was recognized as the West Region Pitcher of the Year, and was selected to the All-CCAA First Team. Following his standout year at Stan State, Ryan was drafted in the seventh round (210th overall) of the 2018 MLB Draft by the Tampa Bay Rays. He made his Major League debut with the Minnesota Twins on September 1, 2021, and quickly emerged as one of baseball's premier young pitchers. A 2022 MLB All-Rookie First Team selection, Ryan has since become a cornerstone of the Twins' rotation. Through the 2025 season, he has posted a 46-36 career record with a 3.79 ERA, 719 strikeouts, and a 1.06 WHIP over 641 innings pitched, including a 13-win, 3.42 ERA campaign in 2025. His rise from Warrior standout to Major League All-Star is one of the most remarkable stories in program history.
2014 WOMEN'S SOCCER TEAM
The 2014 Women's Soccer Team, coached by current Stanislaus State head coach Gabriel Bolton, enjoyed a truly historic season that saw the Warriors advance to the NCAA National Quarterfinals. Stan State captured the NCAA West Region Championship with a 2-0 win over Cal Poly Pomona in the regional final, before falling in heartbreaking fashion on penalty kicks to then-No. 7 Colorado School of Mines. To this day, it remains the furthest any Stanislaus State team has advanced in the NCAA Division II era. The Warriors finished the season with a 16-4-2 record — a campaign defined by excellence, resilience, and pride in the Warrior jersey.
The 2014 Warriors featured eight All-CCAA honorees: Jordan Moineau (First Team), Maryssa McDuffy (Second Team), Sabrina Williamson (Second Team), and Honorable Mentions Chelsea Lewandowski, Mikayla Clifford, Maryssa McDuffy, Kirsten Coleman, and Nichole Donald. Three Warriors also earned NSCAA All-Region honors: Jade Poon and Karli Nestler were named to the Second Team, while Lauren Thornton was selected to the Third Team. The team's combination of experience, chemistry, and determination made them one of the most successful squads in program history, and their NCAA West Region title and national quarterfinal appearance remain defining achievements in Stan State Athletics history.
