SAN BRUNO — After almost notching double-digit saves in a draw, Mya Sanchez of Oregon State has earned the latest West Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
Sanchez, a 2022 graduate of Pitman High School, returned to the Central Valley over the weekend, making eight saves in the Beavers' 1-1 draw with Fresno State.
The effort marked the senior goalkeeper’s third game this season with eight or more saves, and Oregon State's first conference award this season. It is Sanchez’s third overall WCC Player of the Week nod.
Sanchez now has 40 saves on the season, allowing just 11 goals while defending against 137 total shots.
The Beavers are 1-3-4 overall in the 2025 campaign.
