Warriors send Gators home with back-to-back losses

Both the Cal State Stanislaus women’s and men’s basketball teams claimed victory Friday night in back to back home court wins over San Francisco State.
Playing without Katie Busi for almost the entire second half, the short-handed Cal State Stanislaus women Warriors played inspired and pulled together for a come-from-behind 53-48 victory over San Francisco State. Alishea Kelly led the Warriors with 15 points and Christin Gowan had 10 as the Warriors improved to 5-11 overall and 4-8 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
Despite 23 points and 15 rebounds from Donisha Tate, the San Francisco State Gators dropped to 8-12 overall and 4-8 in the CCAA. It was Tate's eight double-double of the season.
A few hours later, Dwight Jones of the Warriors’ men’s team scored a career high 19 points giving Stanislaus the spark it needed to get its offense back as the Warriors defeated San Francisco State, 63-59.
Jordan Stokes had 12 points and eight rebounds while Frank Monge led all players with 10 rebounds to go with his eight points as the Warriors snapped a two-game skid and offensive dry spill to improve to 9-8 overall and 5-7 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
San Francisco State, dropped to 13-7 and 6-6 in the CCAA, was led by Phoenix O'Rourke with 14 points.

Despite hours of driving and speaking with supporters over the past day, Fresno State’s “Coaches Caravan” and athletics department pulled into the parking lot of Hilmar’s Great American Grill last Wednesday still full of energy for the last stop of their Rally the Valley tour.
