The Turlock High varsity baseball team is off to a hot start in the season, 9-0, to be exact after their latest win came at home against Lincoln of Stockton on Monday.

Dallin Tilby and Alex Garcia combined for seven innings of work from the mound, allowed three hits and an unearned run while the offense added four runs from four different players as the Bulldogs won 4-1.

Turlock took an early lead, scoring a pair of runs and going up 3-0 after the second inning.

From there, the pitching was lights out and the offense managed to add one more.

In fact, only two players managed to get hits against Tilby and Garcia’s efforts from the mound.

Garcia ended up tossing 5 and 2/3 innings, allowing three hits and a run, while walking two.

Tilby pitched 1 and 1/3 innings of shutout ball, allowing no hits, runs, walks and striking out one of four batters faced.

Mason King was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Tyler Etharidge and Justin Hines each scored a run.

Garret Fountain was 3-for-3 and scored one of the team’s four runs. Alden Norquist went 2-for-2.
