This week marked the first of Central California Athletic League basketball competition for the boys and girls programs of Turlock and Pitman high schools, offering mixed results. Over in the Central California Athletic Alliance, the Turlock Christian boys team pulled off a major road victory to begin its conference campaign, while Denair continued play in the Southern Athletic League and the Hilmar and Hughson teams battled in Trans-Valley League action.
In the soccer slate, the Hilmar boys remained undefeated in the TVL while the Lady ‘Jackets bounced back from a tough week. Also maintaining a strong position in the SAL have been the Denair programs. Turlock and Pitman teams extended winning streaks to start CCAL.
