Coach Dave Exline and his Hilmar High wrestling team had a simple plan: Get as many wrestlers qualified as possible.

The Yellowjackets had 12 wrestlers entered into last weekend’s Trans-Valley League Championships at Ripon High. Exline hoped for at least eight to move on, but nearly all of his wrestlers qualified for this weekend’s Division V Championships at Summerville High.

Eleven made it, with one alternate.

Heavyweight Devin Azevedo was the lone champion for the Yellowjackets, while Antonio Delgadillo (137), Kyle Silva (154) and Tyler Juncker (162) all took second place in their respective weight divisions. Other Hilmar qualifiers include Antonio Aguilar (third at 121), Jorge Aguilar-Mora (third at 127), Kris Camden (third at 132), Nicholas Azevedo (fourth at 142), Jeramy Nickelsen (third at 147), Matthew LaBass (fourth at 173) and Anthony Melo (third at 191).

Roberto Higuera is an alternate after finishing fifth at 114.
