Local hoopers earn All-League recognition

Pitman High’s Dailynn Greener, only the third player in program history to eclipse 1,000 career points – she capped off her high school career with 365 points (16.6 ppg), 110 rebounds, 56 assists, 60 steals and seven blocks — was named to the All-CCAL First Team (Journal file photo).

The Central California Athletic League (CCAL) and the Trans-Valley League (TVL) each released their postseason awards list this week, with several players from the Journal coverage area being honored.

The All-CCAL First Team girls list featured one of the region’s most prolific scorers over the past four years in Pitman High’s Dailynn Greener. Only the third player in program history to eclipse 1,000 career points, Greener capped off her high school career with 365 points (16.6 ppg), 110 rebounds, 56 assists, 60 steals and seven blocks as the Pride posted a 6-4 record against conference opponents, good for a runner-up finish to 10-0 Gregori.

Also earning CCAL recognition was junior teammate Clarissa Vallejo, named to the Second Team. Meanwhile, Miley Zamora of the Pride and Isabella Moran of the Bulldogs (1-9) were honorable mentions.

Hilmar (6-6) was represented on the All-TVL girls list, with senior Emma Gomes receiving First Team recognition. Teammates Haygen Stivers and Evelyn Mendoza were honorable mentions alongside a plethora of Hughson (1-11) players — Kindal Barstow, Chloe Beers, Adisyn Powers and Shawna Valverde.

On the boys side, each of Turlock, Hilmar and Hughson had First Team representatives.

In the CCAL, senior Donovan Muirbrook of the Bulldogs (3-7) earned the First Team nod, with teammate Ledger Ladine landing on the Second Team alongside Abhiraj Cheema of Pitman (3-7). The Pride’s Ty Sanchez and the Bulldogs’ Nehemiah McGowan were honorable mentions.

Over in the TVL, Aaron Solorio of Hilmar (6-6) and Daram Kang of Hughson (6-6) were First Team selections. Earning conference honorable mentions were Titus Beers, Wyatt Porter and James Seay of the Huskies, as well as Cohen Felber, Riley Quintero and Xavier Silveira of the Yellowjackets.
