Hines and Tilby earned All Journal first-team honors and assisted the Bulldogs in winning one last Central California Conference title after tying with Pitman and Buhach Colony at 9-3 to share the honors. Hines batted .347 and had 26 hits and 12 RBI for the year.

Tilby was the most consistent pitcher for the ‘Dogs this spring and pitched a team-high 57 and 1/3 innings.

He went on to allow just 16 earned runs and struck out 47 with an ERA of 1.95.

Tilby was also 7-0 for the year and in 10 games started he pitched four complete games and added a save.

Pitman will have four players playing from this past season’s CCC co-champ squad.

A squad that went 17-11 for the year.

The Central California Conference Most Valuable Player was awarded to Pitman’s Brett Hagen, who just finished off a standout senior campaign that saw him lead the Pride to one final CCC title as the team’s undoubted ace.

Scoring against Hagen was rare as he controlled the game from the mound for the most part. He allowed just eight earned runs on 39 hits and 55 and 2/3 innings pitched and struck out 68 while the opposition hit .211 and his ERA was 1.01.

The Pride will also be boasting Joey Romeo, Tyler Stout and Nick Tullio.

Tullio and Romeo had the top two averages on the team, aside from Sean Locke who batted .429 but just played in eight games.

Romeo played in 23 games and hit .426 in 61 at-bats and finished with 26 hits and tied Mac Cabero for the most RBI on the team at 14.

Tullio batted .350 in 19 games played and finished with eight RBI and scored five runs. He also did work from the mound after the junior tossed 36 innings and allowed 11 earned runs while striking out 25. He finished with an ERA of 2.14.

Stout was a first team selection at outfield after he batted .289 in 26 games played and tallied nine RBI and seven doubles. He also tossed the second most innings on the squad with 54 innings pitched and allowed 19 earned runs while striking out 34. He finished with an ERA of 2.46 and was 4-4.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the pre-game ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. The All-Star game is slated to take place at the Stanislaus State Baseball Field and begins 7:05 p.m. Saturday.
