Pitman volleyball on a roll

Pitman High’s volleyball squad was tested once again after having two league matches in three days. After defeating the Merced High Bears, 3-1, on Tuesday, the Pride was back on the court on Wednesday — this time against the Golden Valley High.

Just as they did on Tuesday, the Pride only dropped one set en route to a 3-1 victory over the Cougars. Pitman bounced back after falling in the first set, 20-25, to win the next three sets (25-18, 25-17 and 25-19).

Pitman's Lindsey Vander Weide topped out with 14 kills and nine digs. Maddy Halteman’s 27 assists helped her team come back after being down early on. Terri Gallons' eight blocks proved to be critical; and Lauren Solis finished with five aces for the Pride.

The Pride are now 11-1 overall, 2-0 CCC and will travel to Buhach Colony on Tuesday with the game scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
